okay okay okay - so its been a long time...what can I say?  I've been busy.  Anyways, Da Riffs just got nominated with Spiderloc for "Best Original Song in a Video Game" @ The Spike TV Video Game Awards.  The night was CRAZY fun, and ironically, G-Unit Boss, 50 Cent was also nominated for the same award. 50 won, and brought Spider up on stage, shouted him out, and gave the award to him.  It was PRETTY DOPE, I must say, and naturally, Spider was excited!!  50, Mase & Missy performed.  David Banner, Snoop, and others were in the house.
 
Ras Kass' album/mixtape, Institutionalized, came out last month after rave reviews in every publication & MTV. Da Riffs have 2 joints on there, Expect Me, and U Ain't feat. Xzibit, Chamillioniare, and Krondon. You can cop it at www.HipHopSite.com
 
Da Riffs & MOP are putting finishing touches on a new song that may feature a long time never mcee from Brownsville as well.
 
Video games, and now advertising.  Da Riffs created the music for the new national Budweiser campaign, in fact, Budweiser decided to build their whole campaign around the music, so we shall see whats in store when that surfaces.
 
As we know, Madden and NBA Live both came out this summer.  Da Riffs had over 12 joints in Madden, including the urban NFL remixes, dat have NFL & Madden junkies doin headspins- plus songs with Spiderloc, Slim Thug, Papoose, Tech N9ne, and Jay-Z signee, Sam Scarfo.

    Da Riffs have been busy working on tracks for the 2006 EA sports games. NBA live '06 features 3 songs produced by Da Riffs with west coast own Bishop Lamont, Universal artist Chamillionaire, and G-Unit recently signed artist Spider Loc . Madden '06 Da Riffs tracks feature Slim Thug, Kay Slays artist Papoose, Sam Scarfo (Jay Z's first artist signed to Def Jam), and G-Unit's Spider Loc, Da Riffs also remixed 10 of the original NFL Films songs and are being used as sound score for Madden 2006. These tracks will also be playing in all the NFL sports stadiums around the US. You can hear some of the tracks at EASports.com
West Coast lyrical legend Ras Kass recently did a 3 song EP with songs produced by Da Riffs and Rick Rock. The A-side is"Bars Up" produced by Da Riffs and the B-side is "Deformed Pretty Boys" also produced by Da Riffs, as well as an added bonus cut produced by Rick Rick called "Caution". EA Sports' Need 4 Speed; Underground Vol. 2 came out in early December, and SOLD over 7 million copies worldwide in less than 6 weeks.  Da Riffs
produced "I Need Speed" for Capone of QB famed group CNN, MTV's favorite pick off the game.  You can peep this song on www.MTV.com.  Capone was also rewarded with a customized Capone car, that players can select as their ride in the game.  Peace to Capone & Raydon!



EA Sports NFL Street 2 will be available on December 26th. Da Riffs did 4 exclusive tracks for the game featuring Rock, Royce Da 5'9", Bishop Lamont, and Planet Asia. You can listen to the music here .

Da Riffs have been contracted by EA Sports to score all music for NBA Street, both hiphop & drum'n bass riddims, along with scoring 4 rap/rock hybrids for NFL Street.   Royce da 5'9, Rock  (Heltah Skeltah), underground legend Planet Asia, and west coast newcomer Bishop Lamont were selected to perform these rock songs with Da Riffs.



In other EA Sports news, peep our song with JR Ewing "Time to Get Dirty" featured in Madden 2005.And, keep a look out for Need 4 Speed 2005, as we have the title song for the game with Queensbridge-bred emcee, Capone, from Capone N Noreaga; entitled "I Need Speed".   Along with the title song, a custom Capone car has been designed for the game.   Vrooooooooooooooooom!!!

Recently, Red Room Studios was visited by undergound mystery emcee, Ali Vegas, who banged out 4 songs to jumpoff the full album collabo between him and Da Riffs.   Additionally, Ali cut a record called "I'm 2 Street" for Ea Sports' NBA Street.  

In the interim, Da Riffs and Planet Asia are putting the finishing touches on their collaboration LP - entitled King Medallions, Planet Asia's street alterego.

Da Riffs and RA the Rugged Man collaborate on"King of the Underground" for the most recent Tony Hawk video game. Da Riffs also produced several background music tracks. The game recently recieved an MTV moon man award for 'Best Video Game Soundtrack'.
